A new church for the Isle of Wight
Our first Sunday is 7 March 2027 in Newport.
What is Fount?
Fount is a new evangelical church being planted in Newport, right in the middle of the island. It's being led by Dave Cornes, who grew up here.
What it'll be like
Sundays will have a live band and modern songs, and Bible teaching that's faithful, relevant and engaging. We'll pray together from the very first week, and a lot of church will happen around a table, in homes and over food.
It'll be a church for every generation, and we want people who've never been to church to feel welcome from the moment they walk in.

Why Fount?
A fount is a spring, the place where water rises and starts to flow. Jesus told a woman at a well that the water he gives becomes a spring inside a person, welling up to eternal life.
Fount is what we're asking God to do here: to make his life spring up in Newport and run out into every corner of the island.

Who's behind it
I was born on this island, and I've long felt a call to serve the Lord here. Kat and I came home to plant a church, and Fount is that church.
Dave Cornes, Pastor
Dave has been in ministry for fifteen years, including nine on the staff of a large church in London. He's married to Kat, and they live in Newport with their young family.
